Cornell Mundial were the regional champions
last year and we defeated them 3-1 and started our season off on
the perfect note. "This was one of best games I have been a
part of as a member of Binghamton club soccer" (JJ Gould).
Both Cornell and our Binghamton squad played extremely well defensively;
both teams allowed under 5 shots in the first half. The game speed
was extremely fast and our first touch was exceptional (especially
for our first game). We won a majority of the 50-50 balls and possessed
the ball very well. Our finishing was impressive. Stefano had a
gorgeous shot off of Yvan's header in the first half, Matt Hogan
utilized his body well to score with his back, and JJ Gould scored
a gorgeous half-volley from 25 yards out. Regis also contributed
2 assists. It was a great game and I expect us to keep improving.
