RESULTS FROM THE WEEK OF: March 14 & 21, 2005 ULTIMATE FRISBEE (Savanna, Georgia~ March 19-25, 2005) The first day of the tournament was a hat tournament where we played with people from different teams. The rest of the week we played 7 games, going 7-0 to win the coed division of the tournament. The finals were cancelled due to a thunderstorm, so we started back after the thunderstorm stopped. During the trip there were no injuries, and the only complication was a flat tire on the way back up which was fixed and we continued on our way. Overall, this was a great trip that the team will be looking to go to on a yearly basis. NOTES: ECRC REGIONAL TOURNAMENT. The BU Racquetball Club competed
this past weekend in the Eastern Collegiate Racquetball Conference Regional

of the BU team was defeated in the gold bracket of their division. The
tournament attracted the greatest draw and player talents in several years
and due to the seeding, most players ended up playing in the red and white
brackets. The "1 player, Ryan Levering, managed to make up for his
first loss by continuing on to the finals in the red bracket, finally
losing in a 9-11 tie breaker to the St. Ambrose #1 player. Mike Cohen
and Levering also played hot and cold, losing badly in the red doubles
finals after playing a great semifinal match. BU ended up placing 14 out
of 20 schools due to the first round losses. MEN'S LACROSSE (Long Island, NY ~ February

RESULTS FROM THE WEEK OF: January 31, 2005 RACQUETBALL (State College, PA ~ February 4, 2005) Summary of USRA backed ECRC (United States Racquetball Association - Eastern Collegiate Racquetball Competition) At Penn State University in P.A. on Feb 4-6. (Pictures of Tourney) Ryan Levering won Men's one red division - a huge accomplishment
that came down to a tie breaking game with him pulling out the win. Mike
Cohan also went on to a Division one finals game but was not the final
winner. Played exceptionally well in Men's 2 with Julian. Julian did great
in both his men's 2 division singles and doubles games pulling out a lot
of key games for advancements. Mike P. went in Men's 3 Gold divisions
and then was eventually eliminated Saturday by Navy missing the finals.
Dan Zilkah Played Men's three red division with elimination occurring
in a quarterfinals match - he also played strong doubles with Mike P.
Great event - BU players stepped up to the plate with many great games
- all displayed competitive talent in their divisions with Ryan Levering
winning his and Mike Cohan making the final game. ICE HOCKEY
(Piscataway, NJ ~ February 5, 2005) The Bearcats were on the road at Rutgers
after a big win at home. The game was very evenly matched and was played
at a quick pace. The first period ended with no score. BU would open the
scoring with a goal from Sean Marcel off a rush from defenseman Robert
Gilbert. BU would control the second period and go into the third with
a 1-0 lead. The third period would spell disaster for the Bearcats, as
they would allow Rutgers to score four unanswered goals including two
on the power play. A bright spot for the Bearcats was the goaltending
of Josh Reiger who made 43 saves. RESULTS FROM THE WEEK OF:

(Cortland, NY ~ January 30, 2005) Players Frank Scalia and Robert ICE HOCKEY (Chenango, NY ~ January 29, 2005) The Bearcats faced-off against Cornell in their first game of the spring semester. Binghamton opened the game in excellent fashion, scoring in the first six seconds off a goal from Judson Dacher-Shapiro. The Bearcats kept the pace of the game high tempo and physical throughout the game. John Roufaiel, who made an amazing pass from behind the net to Sean Marcel for a goal and threw a huge hit putting a Cornell player through the bench, gave a strong effort. Doug Centola also had a goal. However, Cornell's offense was too much for Binghamton and they outscored the Bearcats 7-3. |
